Theory day
There are three major things:
- Structural functionalism
- Social conflict
- Symbolic interactionism
Each of these theories helps us ask questions or see things that we havent done in a previous way

structural functionalism: what are the connections

sees society as different parts that are related
conflict theory is different from structual functionalism
conflict theory says society operates on the conflict between groups on scarce resources
e.g. scarce resources: water land labor trees raw materials oil parking space
anything can be a scarce resource
false consciousness vs class consciousness
