- Women worked in jobs considered traditional women’s work & not as impacted by the stock market
- Teaching, clerical, sewing etc
- Marriage rates decreased 22% & single women needed to support themselves
- Paid less than male counterpart
- Trade Off : Working for less money in exchange for a more stable job
- Working married women were seen as selfish for taking away jobs of men needing to support their families or single women supporting themselves
