  • Women worked in jobs considered traditional women’s work & not as impacted by the stock market

  • Marriage rates decreased 22% & single women needed to support themselves
  • Paid less than male counterpart
  • Trade Off : Working for less money in exchange for a more stable job
  • Working married women were seen as selfish for taking away jobs of men needing to support their families or single women supporting themselves
