you get on the elevator like whats been taught to you if everyone in the elevator was facing away from the door, that would be odd.
seeing the general in the particular is about finding patterns regarding behavior from specific experiences
dirkheim looked at suicide data, and noticed something interesting.
Belonging to certain groups increased or decreased for that group the likelihood that someone in that group would commit suicide
more connection in a group - lower suicide rate less connection - higher suicide rate
lisa works as an auto mechanic and wonders how her experience as a female in what is typically a male dominated occupation, she wonders how that has affected her experiences
is she seeing the individual and the social context
